Restoring Cars in the Classroom
McPherson College, located an hour north of Wichita, Kansas, is offering an unparalleled opportunity for car enthusiasts and aspiring mechanics. The college is home to the nation's first and only four-year automotive restoration program, where students breathe new life into classic vehicles, such as a 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300S Cabriolet and a 1965 Porsche 356C. In this unique program, students don't just learn mechanical skills; they also delve into the art and history of automotive design, honing their abilities as both mechanics and detectives. CBS News Correspondent Lee Cowan takes us inside the classroom to explore how McPherson College is shaping the future of classic car restoration.
