George Frayne aka Commander Cody:  

Look in any book on the History of Rock and Roll and you’ll find Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airman. This 8-piece super band was Billboard Magazine’s WORLD’S BEST LIVE BAND in 1974-75 and their album “Deep in the Heart of Texas” is one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s top 100 albums of all time.

George Frayne earned his B.S. in Architectural Design (1966) and M.F.A. in Sculpture and Painting (1968) from the University of Michigan. He has exhibited in numerous national juried, group and individual shows throughout the United States. The books Musicians  as Artists,Starart and the newly publishedBeatle Art  feature his paintings.  Currently, George has his sculpture, “HorsepowerII”,  on display at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. Once this exhibit ends, the horse will be on permanent display at the Saratoga Auto Museum.George Frayne lives in Saratoga Springs and divides his time between his love for painting and his love for piano.
